Anything Goes - The Paper Shelter

 Good morning folks,

It's new challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and as it's Christmas, this challenge will be a two week one. The theme is a super easy anything goes.

For my card this challenge I used The fabulous Megan, and paired her with some pretty Maja design papers.

She's such a lovely digi to colour, and she works for so many different occasions.

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

Hope you have a fantabulous day!

The Paper Shelter 10th Birthday Blog Hop!

Good Morning fellow crafters and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop and this is in celebration of their reaching their 10th Birthday on December 8th. It will be a two week Challenge and both Design Teams are taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us and this one is a  "A  SPECIAL CELEBRATION" theme, which I know is extremely popular!!!! If you have landed here from Isabelle then you're heading in the right direction - if not then you'll want to head on back to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to start again, as you'll not want to miss out on this one! Our Design Teams have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter Website and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commentor a digi of their choice as well as the main prize, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot.

I'd been waiting for an excuse to use the gorgeous Bookworm Fairy digi, and this seemed the perfect excuse to me. When I'm not crafting, I'm most likely to be found with my nose in a book (although when I am crafting, chances are pretty high I'll be listening to an audio book!), so this digi is all kinds of perfect, as far as I'm concerned.

I picked out some pretty papers and embellishments, and decided this image absolutely deserved the shabby chic treatment. Et voila! One birthday blog hop card!

That's it from me, but there are plenty more lovely creations for you to go take a peek at!

From here you will need to hop on over to Lilibet's blog. Don't forget to leave your comment for a chance of winning your choice of one of the fab digi's available in store.
Hop! Hop! Hop!
Good luck and hope you're enjoying it so far.

A Christmas card - The Paper Shelter

Good morning folks!

It's new challenge time again over at The Paper Shelter, and we have a very useful theme this week, namely christmas cards!
Now I don't know about you guys, but I had a bit of a panic moment last week when I realised I only had 4 Christmas cards made! Two days and a burst of industriousness later, and I now have 15. Still not even close to enough, but I feel a little better now, lol.

So if you're in the same boat, this week's theme will be a particularly useful one. I used the fab Yep, I have my methods digi, which definitely makes me smile.

Now I suppose I'd better get on with making a few more. Christmas isn't far off now!

Happy birthday to Sweet Stampin!

 Good morning folks!

(Apologies for the late post. blogger seems to be having difficulties posting my scheduled posts since the change-over. Normally I'm around to help it along manually before now, but today is my son's 18th, so have been a little busy!)

We hope you'll come celebrate with us over at Sweet Stampin' this week, because we are officially 11 years old!!

So, unsurprisingly enough, our theme this week is Birthdays.

Now that's a pretty easy theme, so you all have no excuse for not coming to play!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Use red - Sweet Stampin'

Hello all, time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'. this week's theme is Use red, so we'd love to see your cards with red in them. They could feature poppies for remembrance, or, you could just use red, like I did:

The image is an Art by MiRan digi, and I paired her with some pretty, romantic papers, to make a card that could work both as a valentine's or anniversary card.

Hallowe'en - Sweet Stampin'

 Morning all,

It's new challenge time again over at Sweet Stampin, and this week's theme is Hallowe'en!

I had so much fun with this one!

I used a fab stamp set from AALL & Create, carved myself a few different pumpkins, and layered them on a digi paper from The Paper Shelter that I printed out. A sentiment stamp, a couple of rounded corners et voila!

Now it's over to you guys! We're looking forward to seeing all your Hallowe'en creations this week!

Music and Dance - The Paper Shelter

 Morning all!

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week's theme is music and dance. Between my husband, kids, brothers and best friend, I've made so many guitar-themed cards over the years, that I decided this time I would do something completely different. And there aren't many instruments more different from a guitar than a saxophone, right?

This image is called The Saxophonist. Isn't he fab? I found some papers I liked the look of, and die-cut some music notes. I also used one of my precious rusty stars (if anyone knows of somewhere these can still be purchased, please holler!).

I really love this guy's hat, don't you?

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

Use your old stash - Sweet Stampin'

 Morning all,

It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, and this week we'd like you to use some old stash.

You know you have some! ;) If you're anything like me, you'll have loads. So for this week's cards I dug out an old Gorjuss pack I got when I first started crafting, and made a couple of birthday cards for the twin nieces.

Remember those? I stamped some sentiments, and used alphabet stamps to spell out their names too. It was a lot of fun to play with these old goodies, and I was reminded why I absolutely had to have the collection at the time.

Over to you guys! come play with us this week, dig out some old favourites, and don't forget to stamp!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Colours of Autumn - The Paper Shelter

 Good morning!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter, and it's time to break out those lovely warm pens again, because the theme is colours of autumn.

I used the adorable Autumn is coming digi and paired her with some lovely autumnal papers.

I then used a lovely warm brown to mat the image and papers, and used some die-cuts in the same shade. I have to say this was such a fun image to colour, especially using those Autumn hues.

Autumn - Sweet Stampin'

Hello my lovelies, time for another new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'. this week our theme is autumn.

I'm not sure about this Autumn malarky... Last week I spotted crocuses while I was out for a walk. Now I know we've had a really cold summer here in Yorkshire, cut come on! Thursday afternoon we had the worst hail storm I've personally ever seen, and this morning there was still loads of ice everywhere. And the temp right now is 3 degrees Celsius. Are we sure it's September?

Well, I think the lovely autumnal colours of the cards this week will help warm things up. I really, really love working with these colours.

The digi is from The Paper Shelter, naturally, and coloured with Promarkers. I think Promarkers are fab for these lovely warm hues, but I still wish they had a decent dark brown!

Anyways, it's over to you guys! We're looking forward to seeing your creations this week, and don't forget to check out what my fellow Sweeties have been up to!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Simple, yet effective!

 Good morning everyone,

Our summer break is over, and it's time for a brand new challenge over at The Paper Shelter. This week we're looking for creations featuring punches and dies.

I decided to use the fab Cheerleader digi, and four different dies to make this card:

Favourite colour combo - Sweet Stampin'

 Good morning all!

New challenge time at Sweet Stampin', and this week we're asking you to use your favourite colour combo.

There are several I am very fond of, but I do love a combination of greens and purples!

I decided to keep the card relatively simple, to let the adorable image (Kitty Acrobatics by The Paper Shelter) and the pretty colours do all the talking.

I hope you'll come and play with us this week... I wonder what pretty colour combinations we'll see!

Have a fantabulous day!

Anniversaries - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning folks, time for another challenge over at Sweet Stampin' today, and this week we're looking to celebrate anniversaries.

I decided to take the opportunity to make an anniversary card for hubby, and him being an engineer and electronics nut, I ordered this fab stencil from Heffy Doodle to use on his card.

I started by inking the panel with green/yellow/brown Distress inks, then sponged embossing ink through the stencil and added aged silver Frantage embossing enamel and heat-set it. I went for the Frantage, rather than regular silver embossing powder, so as to get a grungy look. I then stamped the sentiment in the middle, et voila!

Now it's your turn! Please do come and share your anniversary makes with us!

Have an awesome weekend!

Summer Holiday Challenge - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all!

It's time for our Summer Holiday Challenge over at The Paper Shelter. This challenge is a 4 week challenge, so you'll have plenty of time to join in!

When I think of summer holidays, I think of the seaside, so I used the gorgeous Summery digi, and made this card:

I used some seaside papers and die cuts, and coloured her to match. Tell you what... I'd love to be at the seaside right now, but with things as they are, our holiday to Filey was unfortunately cancelled. Fingers crossed we'll get to go away next year instead!

Clean and Simple - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Time for what is for me one of the harder themes of all over at Sweet Stampin' this week! We're looking for your clean and simple makes.

You know me, I'm more of a fuss and frills crafter usually, and I find CAS much more difficult. However, my buddy is rather fond of CAS designs, so as this year's Star Wars Day celebrations (the 4th of May) were hampered by lockdown, I decided to send him a card instead.

Luckily I had the perfect stamp set from The Ink Road, which I picked up at a craft fair last year. I have SO many cards planned with this set...

For this theme, I kept it very CAS indeed...

I know there's a joke there about face masks (which may or may not have been part of what I wrote inside said card, lol)...

Now then, over to you guys! Time to show us your CAS makes (if you're anything like me, you may need to sit on your hands to refrain from adding lots of layers and throwing embellishments at it by the handful, lol) .

Have an awesomesauce weekend!

Holiday Time - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all,

I don't know about you guys, but I've been spending quite some time during lockdown daydreaming about all the places I want to visit when it is again safe to do so. With that in mind, this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter seemed appropriate, as the theme is Holiday time.

Now, I still haven't managed to pin down where I'd like to visit most (it's a big world, and there's so much to see!), but it's certain I'd need a plane to get there, so I chose the gorgeous The Beautiful Flight Attendant for my card, and paired with some fab travel themed papers and die cuts.

Now it's over to you guys! Do you have somewhere you'd like to visit? If so, why not make something to share with us?

Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. New challenge time over at Sweet Stampin', and though we're all a little stuck in place, it doesn't stop us dreaming about holidays!

I used a fabby image from The Paper Shelter, and some pretty Paris themed paper for my card this week.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to be walking along the streets of Paris with my camera, but alas, it's not to be right now.

Now it's over to you guys. Come share your holiday makes with us, and we'll do some virtual travelling with you.

Going Digital - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all,

We're going digital this week over at The Paper Shelter! So dig out your digis (a The Paper Shelter one would be awesome, but not compulsory to enter) and come and play with us!

I decided to have a play with Cute Bike, and some pretty, fresh papers.

I added a few gems (oddly, the heart-shaped ones have come out much darker in the photo than they actually are. Oh the joys of photographing reflective things! lol), some fish tail die-cuts and a simple sentiment.

Got the blues - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin', and this week our theme is Got the Blues.

I used a digi from The Paper Shelter for my card, and teamed her with some super pretty papers from LotV.

Even though purple has been my favourite colour for ever, recently I've been very much drawn to the colour blue, so this was an awful lot of fun to make!

Over to you guys. If you need more inspiration, my fellow Sweeties have some lovely examples prepared for you. We hope you'll come play with us this week!

Things with wings - The Paper Shelter

Good morning folks!

Are you ready for a new challenge? I hope so, because there's a new one starting over at The Paper Shelter right now, and the theme is things with wings!

Now I love this challenge! There's so many options, from birds and butterflies, to - for those who, like me, usually prefer to colour people stamps - fairies. or maybe airplanes are your thing? And of course, we can't forget dragons! And a dragon was just what I chose for this week's card, in the form of the super The Dragon Whisperer digi stamp from The Paper Shelter!

I decided to go for a rustic look this time, so picked some suitable papers and coloured the image to match, then embellished with one of my - carefully hoarded now I can't get any more - shabby bark hearts and some roses.

Flower Power - The Paper Shelter

Good morning peoples,

Time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter, and this week has such a versatile theme, namely, Flower Power.

Surprise, surprise, I opted to go the shabby chic route...

The image is called Grace, and she's so perfect for shabby cards. She's also available in The Chic Bundle, which is so worth getting! It was the first I bought, and I still count them among my favourite images. And so much fun to colour!

Anything but square - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

This week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin' is the always fun anything but square. I kinda need this challenge to come around every now and then, because I find it far too easy to just do the same square over and over, with maybe the occasional rectangle thrown in...

So this time I thought I'd go for something I haven't done in years and made a side-step card.

I combined the gorgeous Tulips digi from The Paper Shelter with some super cute Maya Design papers, added a sentiment and some die-cuts, and my card is ready for my mum's birthday! I didn't want to make it too fussy, so as not to detract from the sweet image, and because it will need to be posted, as the chances of us being allowed to visit family in Scotland any time soon are slim to none, I'm guessing.

I'm also working on a wee mini album with some recent pictures of the kids in for her, to make up for the fact she's not been able to see them in person yet this year.

Well, that's it from me, and I look forward to seeing what everyone makes for this challenge. hopefully it'll inspire me to not always be making square cards!

Have a fantabulous day!

Embellishments - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all!

This week's new challenge over at The Paper Shelter is one I always enjoy... We're looking for embellishments this week!

I decided to use the gorgeous She's Charming, and made this card:

The papers were some very old magazine freebies that I stumbled across, and I coloured her to match them with my Promarkers. For my embellishments I used ribbon, a silver dress charm and some die-cut hearts. And of course a few pearls to finish it off. I'm very pleased with how this one came out.

Humour - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

Ready for a new challenge? It's a funny one over at Sweet Stampin' this week, where our theme is humour.

I tend to struggle with this theme, but found inspiration this time in a set of stamps from AALL & Create, which definitely made me chuckle...

Aren't those fellas just adorable? And I found the sentiment pretty amusing too.

Over to you guys! Share some much needed smiles with us over on the blog this week, and don't forget to come and see what my fellow Sweeties have prepared too!

A Shaped card - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all!

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we're looking for shaped cards! so, put away your squares and rectangles, and play with another fun shape!

I went for a round card, and used the super funky Love is Chemistry image, to make a card for my science-loving husband.

I also added a piece of actual tree bark (cut into a fish tail) for a funky little touch. I love finding things like that to use in my cards!

Utterly distressed - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning all!

New challenge time over at Sweet Stampin', and the theme this week is utterly distressed. You can interpret this any way you like (I always love Susan's take on the theme), but it will probably come as no surprise to anyone that I chose to go the shabby chic route.

Armed with a fab image from The Paper Shelter and my trusty Tim Holtz distressing tool, this is what I ended up with:

Now it's over to you guys. we hope you have fun with the theme, and don't forget to come and share with us!

Birthday cards - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone!

Time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we have a birthday theme! Easy peasy, no?

I used the gorgeous It's tea time digi to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law.

Isn't she fab? I loooove her outfit, and the hat reminds me of one I got my daughter a few years back - a purple tophat that she wore everywhere for quite some time! (she also has a bowler hat, a cowboy hat, 2 fedoras and a fez... she likes hats! lol)

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter.
