Paper piecing - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

All being well, when this post reaches you, I shall be enjoying some well-deserved relaxation in Filey (on the Yorkshire coast), while looking for seashells and other cool stuff to bring back for crafting with!

In the meantime, we have a paper piecing challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin' this week.

I thought it was the perfect chance to play with one of the Dylusions stamps I picked up a while ago...

I love stamps like these, but husband dear thinks they're creepy. He really doesn't like stamps that have any features missing, such as the eyes here, or the noses on Magnolia stamps. I am personally rather fond of them though!

My fellow Sweeties have pieced some lovely papers for you, so I hope you'll go take a peek, and if you're feeling inspired, please do come and play along!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Magic, Myth or Fantasy - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Time for another challenge over at Sweet stampin', and this week our theme is Myth, magic or fantasy.

Now I happen to have twin nieces, who are into unicorns at the moment, so I have a pair of cards prepared with exactly those creatures on them.
I tried to keep them as similar as possible, only changing the colours to reflect each of their favourites.

Of course there's some sparkle too, on their horns and tails, because I'm sure there are laws stating unicorns must have sparkle. Or something like that...

Anyway, that was my offering, and my fellow Sweeties have some equally fantastical things prepared for you.

Hope you'll come and play along!

Have an awesomesauce weekend!

May Challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Hello again!

I'm back with my second post of the morning, this time for Rhedd's Creative Spirit, where we have another fab altered art challenge for May.

We have some amazing new teamies joining us this month, so please do go see their makes and leave them some love!

I had a little fun with an 8" square piece of MDF this month, inspired by some of the ideas and techniques I picked up from Finnabair during last month's workshop.

I just love playing with the Art Alchemy Metallique waxes. I used White Gold here. Most of the embellishments were leftovers from the workshop kit, except for the MDF circle and large gear in the centre, which are Fernli Designs, and the key and filigree which came from Amazon. A Tim Holtz word sticker added a finishing touch.

It's over to you now. Come see what our fab new teamies have designed for you, and then please come and play along!

Have a most fantabulous day!

May challenge - Altered Eclectics

Good morning everyone!

May already, which means it's new challenge time over at Altered Eclectics!

I have another mini album this month, as I've been super busy making loads of them for our charity craft fair this summer. They're a really good seller, so I'm hoping to have loads made by then!

This time I've gathered up the Tim Holtz supplies, and made one with a more masculine look.

I just adore the paper dolls, and if you look closely at the wording behind his legs, I arranged them exactly so on purpose... Got to have something to giggle at, no? hehe...

I don't know why, but I am hopelessly in love with that tape measure paper! I couldn't bear to cover it up.

There's lots of pockets, photo mats, envelopes, etc. for photos, ephemera and journalling.

Et voila. One masculine mini album ready for the craft fair. I have about half a dozen made so far, and LOADS still to go, lol.

I hope you'll all go check out my fellow teamies' fabulous makes, and then come and play with us!

Back shortly with my second altered project for the day...
