Holiday Time - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all,

I don't know about you guys, but I've been spending quite some time during lockdown daydreaming about all the places I want to visit when it is again safe to do so. With that in mind, this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter seemed appropriate, as the theme is Holiday time.

Now, I still haven't managed to pin down where I'd like to visit most (it's a big world, and there's so much to see!), but it's certain I'd need a plane to get there, so I chose the gorgeous The Beautiful Flight Attendant for my card, and paired with some fab travel themed papers and die cuts.

Now it's over to you guys! Do you have somewhere you'd like to visit? If so, why not make something to share with us?

Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

Hope you have a fantabulous day!

Holidays - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

New challenge time over at Sweet Stampin', and though we're all a little stuck in place, it doesn't stop us dreaming about holidays!

I used a fabby image from The Paper Shelter, and some pretty Paris themed paper for my card this week.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to be walking along the streets of Paris with my camera, but alas, it's not to be right now.

Now it's over to you guys. Come share your holiday makes with us, and we'll do some virtual travelling with you.

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Going Digital - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all,

We're going digital this week over at The Paper Shelter! So dig out your digis (a The Paper Shelter one would be awesome, but not compulsory to enter) and come and play with us!

I decided to have a play with Cute Bike, and some pretty, fresh papers.

I added a few gems (oddly, the heart-shaped ones have come out much darker in the photo than they actually are. Oh the joys of photographing reflective things! lol), some fish tail die-cuts and a simple sentiment.

So now it's your turn!

Got the blues - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin', and this week our theme is Got the Blues.

I used a digi from The Paper Shelter for my card, and teamed her with some super pretty papers from LotV.

Even though purple has been my favourite colour for ever, recently I've been very much drawn to the colour blue, so this was an awful lot of fun to make!

Over to you guys. If you need more inspiration, my fellow Sweeties have some lovely examples prepared for you. We hope you'll come play with us this week!

Have a fantabulous day

Things with wings - The Paper Shelter

Good morning folks!

Are you ready for a new challenge? I hope so, because there's a new one starting over at The Paper Shelter right now, and the theme is things with wings!

Now I love this challenge! There's so many options, from birds and butterflies, to - for those who, like me, usually prefer to colour people stamps - fairies. or maybe airplanes are your thing? And of course, we can't forget dragons! And a dragon was just what I chose for this week's card, in the form of the super The Dragon Whisperer digi stamp from The Paper Shelter!

I decided to go for a rustic look this time, so picked some suitable papers and coloured the image to match, then embellished with one of my - carefully hoarded now I can't get any more - shabby bark hearts and some roses.

So now it's your turn!

Masculine - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

Time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin', and this week we're looking for your masculine cards!

I had a play with a Stamperia paper pad, and made a card for my dad:

Minimal stamping on there, I know, but there is some! lol.

Over to you guys! We'd love to see your makes for the fellas.

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Flower Power - The Paper Shelter

Good morning peoples,

Time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter, and this week has such a versatile theme, namely, Flower Power.

Surprise, surprise, I opted to go the shabby chic route...

The image is called Grace, and she's so perfect for shabby cards. She's also available in The Chic Bundle, which is so worth getting! It was the first I bought, and I still count them among my favourite images. And so much fun to colour!

So now it's your turn!

Anything but square - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

This week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin' is the always fun anything but square. I kinda need this challenge to come around every now and then, because I find it far too easy to just do the same square over and over, with maybe the occasional rectangle thrown in...

So this time I thought I'd go for something I haven't done in years and made a side-step card.

I combined the gorgeous Tulips digi from The Paper Shelter with some super cute Maya Design papers, added a sentiment and some die-cuts, and my card is ready for my mum's birthday! I didn't want to make it too fussy, so as not to detract from the sweet image, and because it will need to be posted, as the chances of us being allowed to visit family in Scotland any time soon are slim to none, I'm guessing.

I'm also working on a wee mini album with some recent pictures of the kids in for her, to make up for the fact she's not been able to see them in person yet this year.

Well, that's it from me, and I look forward to seeing what everyone makes for this challenge. hopefully it'll inspire me to not always be making square cards!

Have a fantabulous day!

Embellishments - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all!

This week's new challenge over at The Paper Shelter is one I always enjoy... We're looking for embellishments this week!

I decided to use the gorgeous She's Charming, and made this card:

The papers were some very old magazine freebies that I stumbled across, and I coloured her to match them with my Promarkers. For my embellishments I used ribbon, a silver dress charm and some die-cut hearts. And of course a few pearls to finish it off. I'm very pleased with how this one came out.

So now it's your turn!

Humour - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

Ready for a new challenge? It's a funny one over at Sweet Stampin' this week, where our theme is humour.

I tend to struggle with this theme, but found inspiration this time in a set of stamps from AALL & Create, which definitely made me chuckle...

Aren't those fellas just adorable? And I found the sentiment pretty amusing too.

Over to you guys! Share some much needed smiles with us over on the blog this week, and don't forget to come and see what my fellow Sweeties have prepared too!

Have an awesomesauce weekend!

A Shaped card - The Paper Shelter

Good morning all!

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we're looking for shaped cards! so, put away your squares and rectangles, and play with another fun shape!

I went for a round card, and used the super funky Love is Chemistry image, to make a card for my science-loving husband.

I also added a piece of actual tree bark (cut into a fish tail) for a funky little touch. I love finding things like that to use in my cards!

So now it's your turn!

Utterly distressed - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning all!

New challenge time over at Sweet Stampin', and the theme this week is utterly distressed. You can interpret this any way you like (I always love Susan's take on the theme), but it will probably come as no surprise to anyone that I chose to go the shabby chic route.

Armed with a fab image from The Paper Shelter and my trusty Tim Holtz distressing tool, this is what I ended up with:

Now it's over to you guys. we hope you have fun with the theme, and don't forget to come and share with us!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Birthday cards - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone!

Time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we have a birthday theme! Easy peasy, no?

I used the gorgeous It's tea time digi to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law.

Isn't she fab? I loooove her outfit, and the hat reminds me of one I got my daughter a few years back - a purple tophat that she wore everywhere for quite some time! (she also has a bowler hat, a cowboy hat, 2 fedoras and a fez... she likes hats! lol)

So now it's your turn!

The Great Crafty bake-off! - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning stampers!

It's time for The Great Crafty bake-off down at Sweet Stampin' this week, so we'd love to see your creations featuring food!

This challenge has been a tough one for me... Not in terms of deciding what to make, that was easy, and one of my fave LotV stamps had to make an appearance for it, but tough because it has really, really made me crave cake, and of course flour can't be found for love nor money right now!

In fact, what I really fancy most of all is scones, but strong flour is even more rare than regular flour, unfortunately. (and supermarket scones are just not at all even close to good enough, lol)

So I guess I shall continue to stare at pictures of yummy cakes and tasty treats and try to fool my taste-buds into thinking they don't need any ;)

And now it's over to you guys. Show us your tasty, crafty treats and we'll come and drool over them!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Easter - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone!

It's new challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we're looking for your Easter creations.

Aside from the obligatory chocolate egg for our youngest (17 now, but just you try to forget the chocolate! lol), we don't really celebrate at all, or send cards for that matter. So for my card I went as Easter-ish as I could manage, using the lovely Spring Attitude digi, and colouring her with pretty pastels, and there's a cute bunny too!

I finished it off with a pretty border and some die-cut butterflies, which I think go really well with the gorgeous papers.

So now it's your turn!

Make your own background - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

The theme for this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin' is make your own background, which of course is perfect for those of us who love our Distress inks! I happened to need a new bookmark, and had just received the most perfect stamp for my birthday, so my DT inspiration pretty much made itself this week.

As it was going to be for me to use myself, I opted for a vintage, grungy colour scheme. I also stamped the image in Ground Espresso archival ink, rather than black, for a warmer, more vintage feel, and used a strip of dark brown card as a mat. A Kaiserkraft script stamp provided the perfect little background detail.

Now it's over to you guys! Please do come and play with us this week!

Have a fantabulous day!

Isn't she lovely? And she was so much fun to colour!

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. It's that time of year again! We're celebrating Paddy's day over at Sweet Stampin', so we're looking for green, or funny, or paddy themed creations this week.

I went for green. I broke out a Kenny K image, and managed a football themed card finally!

Let it be spring! - The Paper Shelter

Morning all,

It's time again for a new challenge over at The Paper shelter, and this week's theme is Let it be spring! I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for warmer temperatures and a little less rain and snow too if at all possible!

For my cards, I used the fabulous Spring Enchantment digi, and some pretty spring papers.

You know, it's cheering me up already!

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. Take a leap - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' today, and we took inspiration from the date, so the theme is take a leap.

So you could use people/creatures that jump, or marriage proposals, or even things that happen every 4 years (I didn't think of the world Cup/ Euro footie until after I'd made mine already, lol.)

I used the fabulous The Time of my Life digi from The Paper Shelter for my card, and there's definitely a leap involved in "the lift"! (and yes, I do have the urge to go dig out my Dirty Dancing DVD now, lol)

Over to you guys! Should you need a little more inspiration, my fellow Sweeties have a whole range of interpretations on the theme ready and waiting for you, so why not go check them out?

Have a fantabulous weekend!

One for the boys - The Paper shelter

Morning all,

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and it's time to break out your masculine goodies, as the theme this week is for the boys.

I decided to use the fab Casual Boy digi for my card, and instead of my usual vintage masculine look, I decided to do something with a bit more colour this time!

He's a pretty cool dude, no?

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

Birthday boys - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

It's time to think masculine at Sweet Stampin' this week, as our theme is birthday boys! And you know I do love to make cards for menfolk!

So for this week's card, I went for a Kenny K digi, just for a change, and had some fun with it.

Such a dapper fella, no?

Over to you. Don't forget to go see what my fellow Sweeties have prepared for your inspiration, and we'd love it if you come to play with us!

For the one you love - The Paper Shelter

Morning all!

It's new challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week's theme is For the one you love, which is pretty apt with valentine's day coming up, of course!

For my card, I used the adorable Sweetheart digi, and coloured her to match some pretty love-themed papers (First Edition, I believe), and of course an appropriate sentiment!

I figured the die-cut heart shape was appropriate for this one! :)

Shades of blue - the Paper Shelter

Morning all!

It's new challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week's theme is Shades of Blue.
Now blue isn't a colour I work with often, but I have so many gorgeous blue papers I really should make more of an effort to do so!

So for my card I used the fabulous Rosie, and matched her with some super pretty papers. I really love the shade of blue of the card I used too.

I was originally going to have a different border along the sides, but half-way through punching it, my border punch pretty much exploded in my hands! One second it was a punch, the next it was a useless pile of plastic, metal and springs! Eek! But I had a pretty border die which came to the rescue, thankfully.

Journals/keepsakes - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning all,

New challenge time, and this week we're looking to see some keepsakes. this can be a journal, or maybe a frame, or some other kind of special keepsake.

I went for the journal option of course, and used some stunning Stamperia papers to make a gardening journal. (not for myself though, as my thumbs are every colour but green, lol)

I also made a card to match, so it'll be a perfect little something to give for someone's birthday, or some other occasion.

I absolutely adore the Stamperia range, but you've got to be careful not to get ripped off buying them, I find! The first place I ordered a pad from it was £16 (I was expecting a much bigger pad for that money than the 10 sheets I got!). luckily there are several other websites based in the UK that sell them for less than £10 a pad, or I wouldn't have ever bought any more!

Anyway, it's over to you guys! I hope you'll come and share your lovely makes with us. we look forward to seeing them!

Have an awesomesauce weekend!

New beginnings - The Paper Shelter

Morning all!

Time for our first challenge of the year over at The Paper Shelter today, and we're - rather aptly - looking for new beginning themed cards.
It could be a New year's card of course, or you could opt for a different new beginning, like I've done here with my card:

I used the fabulous Cravings digi (and boy can I remember those! My son made me eat cheese with every meal. I didn't even like cheese! lol.) to make a pregnancy card.

New Stash - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin', and this week we're all curious to see if Santa left you anything crafty in your stocking this Christmas. If so, you have the perfect excuse to come play along with our new stash theme!
Unfortunately for me, Santa always seems to forget the craft supplies, so I've had to make do with using what I believe was the last TPS digi I bought before joining the team. I absolutely had to have this one!

I had so much fun playing with her hair and going for a multi-coloured look.

Your turn! Come show us your new stash over at Sweet Stampin', and don't forget to check out what my fellow Sweeties have got to show you!

Have a fantabulous weekend!
