Add a tag - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meeeee!!! As you're reading this, I am most likely off participating in joint birthday celebrations with my grandfather. He's 92 today!

while I did make him a birthday card, it doesn't fit this week's theme at Sweet Stampin', which is add a tag, so I made another, using the excuse for a spot of shabby prettiness...

The stamp is a Creative expressions one I got (myself, lol) for Christmas, and the papers are LOTV. Flowers are a combination of Craft Box and Wild Orchid Crafts.

The tag pulls out and has "Have a Bloomin' great day" stamped on the back.

Your turn, come and share your "tagged" creations with us (but don't forget to stamp!). If you need more inspiration, my fellow Sweeties have prepared some great things for you!

I'm off to locate some cake!

Have a most fantabulous weekend!

Anything but a birthday - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

New challenge time over at Sweet Stampin', and we're looking for anything but a birthday today.
Remember, it doesn't need to be a card, but it does need to have stamping on it somewhere!

I had a play with some LOTV stamps and paper for this new baby card:

I really love this stamp, and love how it can be a boy or a girl depending on how it's coloured.

I'm also quite sure that buttons are in fact a requirement on new baby cards. not sure why, but there it is...

Hope you'll all come and play with us!

Have a most fantabulous weekend!

February challenge - Altered Eclectics

Hello again!

Back again with my second post for a challenge starting back up after the Christmas break! This time, Altered Eclectics is looking for your altered art, and the team have put together some fab inspiration for you!

I played about with a greyboard mini album blank, and a gorgeous paper pad from Stamperia.

Sorry, this post is going to be a little picture heavy!

The front was decorated with a variety of nautical embellishments, such as seashells from the beach at Filey, Hessian and twine, and some Polaris stones (I got the stones and the papers from Craft Box)
The cute little ship's wheel is from Fernli Designs. I think I got the letter stickers from The works...

The Stamperia pad is full of stunning papers, and even includes some designs to cut out and turn into little envelopes, which is of course perfect for a mini album. The paper is a little more expensive than I'd like though. Didn't realise when I bought it that it was only 10 sheets, but the price reflected a full-sized pad! So a rare treat it is.

I cut several nautical characters with a set of First Edition dies, and scattered them throughout the album. I tried several different types of card, but decided I liked the black silhouette effect best.

There are lots of journaling cards/photo mats which I cut from the pad and placed in some of the pockets.

I left the back blank so it can lie flat without damaging anything.

Et voila! One nautical mini album. I really want to go on holiday now! lol.

Whew! You made it to the end! Your turn. Go take a peek at the lovely projects waiting for you over on the blog, and then please do come and play with us!

Have an awesomesauce day!

February challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Good morning everyone,

After a hiatus over the Christmas period, Rhedd's Creative Spirit is back with another altered art challenge this month.

I took one of my Craft Box boxes (after emptying all the goodies out of it first, naturally) and decorated it as a gift box for my mother.
These boxes are brilliant to use in this way. They're sturdy and have a magnetic closure in the lid, so can be opened and closed easily without damaging the box.

I used a gorgeous DCWV paper pad my mum gave me some years ago. She loves the paper in the pad, and I've made her several things using it, so made this to match.

I also used several Craft Box embellishments, and made some flowers using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral dies.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but I edged everything with my Rustoleum gold leafing pen, which adds a lovely golden shine.

This is the box before:

I very much recommend them, especially since they arrive full of gorgeous crafty goodies to use ;)

Right, that's it from me, but do head over to Rhedd's to see what my fellow teamies have put together for you, and please do come and play along!

Back in a moment with my next project...
