Welcome little one - The Crafting Cafe DT

Goooood morning ladies and gentle peoples!

Just stopping by quickly to share my DT card for The Crafting Cafe with you all. The theme this month is Welcome Little One, and we're being sponsored by The Crafting Boutique.

I used a sweet image by our sponsor, and teamed it up with some paper from an old scrapbooking kit I picked up when I first started cardmaking. I really liked the pink and yellow combination, so coloured the image to match. I decided to keep the card relatively CAS, as there's so much going on in the image, with all the added "background" and whathaveyou.

I just added a sentiment from LOTV, some sweet ribbon I'd been hoarding for ages and a handful of gems, et voila!

Hope you'll find the time to play along. There's still a little over a week left!

Have a fantabulous Monday!

Focus on the sentiment - Sweet Stampin' DT

And a very good morning to all of you!

I had an oopsie a couple of weeks ago. I'd been so busy preparing for a trip to London for the Country 2 Country festival ( alongside a couple of fellow "sweeties"!), that I plumb forgot to have a card ready for the Sweet Stampin' challenge that week! Shock! Horror!

Suitably mortified at having messed that up, I have doubled my efforts, and have two cards to share for our Focus on the sentiment challenge this week.

Mostly because I made a card that I decided I didn't like and I really, really wanted to have some messy mixed media fun, so I got out my Distress Paints, stencils, texture paste and a whole lot more and made this:

I soooooo enjoyed making this one, and I must admit I'm kinda proud of the flower, which has come out even better than I'd thought it would. I have of course been heavily inspired by the gorgeous work of Kathy, who makes such fantastic mixed media cards and more.

But of course, I decided in the end that there's so much going on, that the lovely LOTV sentiment isn't exactly the "focus" anymore, so figured I'd share the original card too (slightly blurry photo and all, lol), which also happens to sport a LOTV sentiment.

Quite the opposite of the first card, no? lol.

Alrighty then, it's your turn to go have a play around with sentiments and join our challenge this week (There's a Sweet Stampin' goodie bag up for grabs) and do be sure to check out what my fellow Sweeties have created for you. Sooooo much purtiness!

Hope you're having a fab weekend. mine will consist of lots of running around, karate grading for the youngest and all that fun stuff!
Hugs,

Sammy-x

I'd like to enter my mixed media card into the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge - Girly
A Vintage Journey - anything Tim (loads of fun with distress paints and a couple of Tim's stencils too!)
As you like it - Favourite type of stamp. Rubber for me, easily. It's so much more convenient to use, especially in mixed media and the like. You can stamp over the top of pretty much anything, and onto bulky items that won't fit into a printer either. You can also use part of a stamp, go for second or third generation impressions... The possibilities are endless!
Dazzling Diva challenge - Spring or anything goes

Floral inspiration for Buckwells Crafty Challenge

Hi all,

It's been a crazy few weeks for me, so I hope you'll forgive me for being MIA. My parents were visiting before, and this last weekend I was at the Country 2 Country festival in London, which was beyond awesome!!
And yesterday my wisdom teeth were finally removed. Those of you that have been around here a while might remember that I first started suffering in February last year. It's taken our wonderful national health service until now to actually do something about it! What can I say; You get what you pay for!
But it's finally done now, and you have no idea how relieved I am!

Now then, on to the reason I'm here this morning... my mid-month inspiration for Buckwells Crafty Challenge! The theme this month is flowers, which is a nice easy one for most of us, so I hope you'll come play along!

I used the digi "Dani" from our sponsor A Lil Digi Heaven, and teamed her up with some pretty floral papers.
And this was the result:

I hope you'll all come and play this month!

Please bear with me for a few more days while I get myself back on my feet so to speak (and can start eating solid food again, lol), and I shall come visit you all soon.

Have a great day,

Sammy-x

March Challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit DT

Hello there, me again.

You guessed it, I'm back with my DT post for Rhedd's Creative Spirit. As always, the theme is anything altered art goes (no cards here please!)

This month I decided to try something new (for me anyway), and have an altered bottle to show you all.
The bottle is a glass coca-cola bottle, which has such a lovely shape, I thought it was a shame to just throw them in the recycling, so had a bit of a play...

As you can see I went the shabby route, with lots of lace and pearls. There's some Hessian and some feathers too. The Fleur de Lis charm is tied on with a little string and there's some pearls inside the bottle too. (I also added some really large pearls inside the bottle after this photo was taken, but the bottle was swiped before I could take another picture, lol)

Unfortunately I am now completely out of rose trim. This means I shall be forced to go shopping. Oh no, poor me! ;-)

I hope you'll all come and play along, and don't forget to come see what my fellow DT have been up to... You won't regret it!

Have a fabulous weekend.

Flowers - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Good morning everyone.

Is it really March already? It seems this year is flying by just as quickly as last year did...

And of course there's some new challenges starting today, including the monthly one at Buckwells Crafty Challenge. The theme this month is flowers, the first of which have already started to appear here! You have no idea how happy the first glimpse of snowdrops makes me each year, lol.

We're being sponsored by A lil digi heaven again this month, and I used the adorable Abigale for my card, along with some pretty papers.

Buckwells supplies used:

Now it's your turn. Go take a peek at my fellow teamies' creations, and them why not play along? There's such scope with this theme, as you could have an image of a flower, floral paper, or add flowers like I've done. So many options!

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I shall be back in an hour with my next DT post.
