Things with wings - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Hi all,

Well, we had a lovely time at the seaside this holiday, though I think next time we're going to want a quieter spot! Didn't get a wink of sleep with noisy drunk people walking past just outside my window all night.
Apart from that it was a really fab holiday though, and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

However, there's some sad news today, and that is that this month's challenge will be Buckwells Crafty Challenge's last. So I hope you'll all come and join in and see it off in style. The theme is Things with Wings and we're being sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps.
The image I chose to play with is the gorgeous Butterfly Blue by Ching Chou Kuik. Isn't she lovely?

I went with a pastel blue/pink/yellow colour scheme, and decided on the shabby chic route with lots of distressing, flowers and lace. I also added some sparkle with my sakura pen, which shows up a teensy bit better on the angled shot blow.

Now I hope you'll join me in wishing the challenge and my lovely teamies a fond goodbye, and of course do come and play along with us!

I'll be back in a bit with my next DT post!

See you soon,

Buckwells Crafty Challenge mid-month inspiration

Hi all!

Popping in this morning with my mid-month inspiration for Buckwell's Crafty Challenge, featuring our regular sponsor, A Lil Digi Heaven.

For this card I chose the fab image called Serenity. Now if any of you are familiar with the TV show Firefly, or the later film Serenity, you will certainly recognise those influences in this image.
Which made it the perfect image to use on a card for my brother, who like me is a big fan! (In fact, any of you that were around when I first started my blog may well remember an earlier card I made for him with the same theme!)

I went predominantly with brown and creamy yellow colours, which also fit in with the show.

The sentiment if a quote from the show, and I followed it up on the inside with "From wishing you a shiny birthday".

And there she is. Ready to get sent off to Edinburgh in August (nothing like being ahead, lol).

And don't forget this month's spots and/or stripes challenge.

Have a fantastic day!

Spots and/or stripes - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Good morning everyone!

We're really looking forward to our holiday to the seaside in a few weeks here at Casa de us, so I give you fair warning that today is going to be a very nautically themed day here on my blog, lol.

First up, there's the May challenge at Buckwells Crafty Challenge, where the theme is spots and/or stripes. as you may have guessed, I've opted for stripes!
Aside from the fact that they seem to work so well with a seaside theme, I must admit I'm rather partial to a good stripe or two. More so than spots, though I've nothing against those either (except, of course, when we're talking chicken pox and the like!).

So, I took my adorable image from sponsor A Lil Digi Heaven and put together this card:

I want an outfit like that for our holiday!

Hope you'll come and play this month. All you need is some spots or stripes, or even both, easy peasy!

Right then, back in an hour with another sea-inspired make!

Colour Palette - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Good morning all, my first post today is for Buckwells Crafty challenge, where we have a gorgeous colour palette to play with in this month's challenge!

Isn't it pretty?

I decided to use all the colours on a fabulous image from Sponsor Lacy Sunshine and went with a super CAScard!

Apart from the pink mat, the only thing I did was heat emboss the sentiment. It's rather more CAS than my usual, but I do try to be brave and give it a whirl from time to time, lol.

I hope you'll all find the time to go take a peek at my fellow teamies' creations, and then why not come and have a go too?

I'll be back in an hour!

Floral inspiration for Buckwells Crafty Challenge

Hi all,

It's been a crazy few weeks for me, so I hope you'll forgive me for being MIA. My parents were visiting before, and this last weekend I was at the Country 2 Country festival in London, which was beyond awesome!!
And yesterday my wisdom teeth were finally removed. Those of you that have been around here a while might remember that I first started suffering in February last year. It's taken our wonderful national health service until now to actually do something about it! What can I say; You get what you pay for!
But it's finally done now, and you have no idea how relieved I am!

Now then, on to the reason I'm here this morning... my mid-month inspiration for Buckwells Crafty Challenge! The theme this month is flowers, which is a nice easy one for most of us, so I hope you'll come play along!

I used the digi "Dani" from our sponsor A Lil Digi Heaven, and teamed her up with some pretty floral papers.
And this was the result:

I hope you'll all come and play this month!

Please bear with me for a few more days while I get myself back on my feet so to speak (and can start eating solid food again, lol), and I shall come visit you all soon.

Have a great day,

Flowers - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Good morning everyone.

Is it really March already? It seems this year is flying by just as quickly as last year did...

And of course there's some new challenges starting today, including the monthly one at Buckwells Crafty Challenge. The theme this month is flowers, the first of which have already started to appear here! You have no idea how happy the first glimpse of snowdrops makes me each year, lol.

We're being sponsored by A lil digi heaven again this month, and I used the adorable Abigale for my card, along with some pretty papers.

Buckwells supplies used:

Now it's your turn. Go take a peek at my fellow teamies' creations, and them why not play along? There's such scope with this theme, as you could have an image of a flower, floral paper, or add flowers like I've done. So many options!

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I shall be back in an hour with my next DT post.

Buckwells inspiration...

Good morning all!

Just popping in to remind you all of the challenge at Buckwells, which is red/love this month, and is sponsored by Buckwells Craft Supplies, and Kenny K.

You may remember that I made a card at the beginning of the month with the Brianna Blaster image. I decided to make a second card with the same image, but going for a different, more steampunk look.

The Copper Pot papers from Buckwells Craft Supplies were perfect for this.

And I found a Kanban sentiment that was perfect! I stuck mostly to using neutral Promarkers for this, with the occasional pop of various shades of red/orange, and love the way she came out!
I don't really like how the Frantage looks in the picture, but in person it looks pretty awesome!

Now there just so happens to be a 10% off sale happening at Buckwells for the next few days, so go grab yourself a crafty bargain while you can!

Right then, that's it from me for now, hope you all have a most fab day!

Red/ love - Buckwells Crafty Challenge DT

Good morning everyone!

It's February already! That was fast! And of course it also means there's some new challenges happening... First of all, the February theme over at Buckwells Crafty Challenge is, unsurprisingly Love/red.

Our sponsor this month is Kenny K, and IO got to use the super fab image Brianna Blaster.

I figured it would make an awesome image for hubby's valentine's card, so I killed two birds with one stone :-)

I coloured Brianna with my Promarkers, and teamed her up with some MME papers and Buckwell Craft Supplies ribbon.

Now, there's 3 chances to win this month at Buckwells! You could win some digis from Kenny K, or two lucky winner can get their hands on some of the new digi papers available from Buckwells. So why not come and play along?

Right then, I shall be back in an hour with my next project... Watch this space!

Anything goes - Buckwell's Crafty Challenge

Good morning all, and Happy New Year! May it be a fun and creative one, and may you all find yourselves in the best possible health and happiness.

Now then, as well as the first day of the year, it's also the first day of the month, which of course means a couple of new challenges for you!

First up it's the new challenge over at Buckwell's Crafty Challenge, and the theme is an easy peasy Anything Goes, so I expect you all to come play along! ;-)

I used an image from our sponsor A Lil Digi Heaven and made a tag:

I'm sending this to someone in America I'm doing an "art exchange" with. She loves geeky stuff (including the Batman universe, so I'm hoping Harley will be appreciated :-)

The background stamp is from Visible Image, and I used red and black ribbon from Buckwell's Craft Supplies. The words are Tim Holtz chit chat stickers and the rest are bits and pieces from my stash.

Now then you lot, time to get your craft on and come share your creations with us!

Have a splendiferous day!
