LOTV open day and a very special guest card...

Good day my lovelies.

Well, I ended up at the LOTV open day yesterday (I'm not even going to pretend to "oops" anymore, lol), and this time my dear 13-year-old daughter came with me. Under duress, I might add!
So we got to the shop, moody teen in tow and started to look for bits and bobs I was after. It didn't take long for her to drop the moody teen thing and start exclaiming over the gorgeous cards on display! So she helped me choose some stamps and flowers and then we went upstairs to share a slice of choc fudge cake! (also foregoing the "oops"...) She then won me some goodies on the tombola, including a paper pad! Woohoo!

Purchases purchased and us ladies escorted safely back home by the boys (who waited in the car the whole time and would absolutely not be coaxed out under any circumstances), said previously moody teen ran off upstairs - after making me stamp her several LOTV images - to go off and create.

As for me, I had a half-finished image on my desk, which I was able to finish off with the new Promarkers I had just picked up and then turned into this card:

You can just make out the glossy accents on the windows!

Recipe:

Image - "Window seat" - LOTV
Medium - Promarkers
Paper - Boofle - Docrafts
Sentiment - Christmas grungy messages - LOTV
Poinsettia - WOC
Die - Xcut
Everything else from stash.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

CHNC - November
A Gem of a Challenge - Christmas is coming
Allsorts challenge - Christmas Cheer
Crafty calendar challenge - All things Christmas
Sister Act challenge - Anything goes
Crafty ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon
Inky Impressions - Traditional Christmas

Now, for the special guest card. Designed by Miss Kayleigh...

Kayleigh used "James Snow Angel" and teamed him with some magazine freebie papers I'd donated to her.
She had the idea of covering all the white bits with Stickles, and I love how sparkly it is!

So there you have it. Her first LOTV card, and she's already gotten me to stamp her about a dozen more images so she can make cards for all her friends! Feel free to leave her some love and encouragement here, and I'll be certain to pass it on! :-)

Hope your day is a great one,

Sammy-x

I felt like I was right there with you on your outing! It must have made your heart swell with pride and happiness to watch Kayleigh go from surly to starstruck, especially when she immediately followed through with a stunning card of her own!! Talk about WOOT!!

Kayleigh, you did an excellent job and you have made me, an old granny, extremely delighted to see this hobby carried on by such a talented young woman!!

That is so lovely! Of course who can resist the crafting bug whilst in the midst of so much LOTV inspiration?! She has done an amazing job, and how fabulous that she wants to make them for her friends. I was at the workshop yesterday and it was great fun.
Many congratulations on the Sweet Stampin' DT spot! Your cards are beautiful xxx

I love your card Sammy, adorable image and lovely Christmas papers - but I have to say you certainly have some competition. Kayleigh's card is gorgeous, I love the sparkle on the image and the lovely bright colours she has chosen.
