Summer/Holiday destination - Sweet Stampin' DT

Hi all,

Yes, I know I'm on the wrong week for Sweet Stampin' again, but when I saw how gorgeous the papers from sponsor Michele R Designs were, I simply had to play along with team Abi again this week. The theme  is summer/holiday destination, and when I think of summer, I think of the seaside and all things nautical.
This is what I made:

Aren't those papers gorgeous?

I hope you'll come and play with us. Just remember to stamp!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

Hugs!

Hi all,

I decided yesterday to make another card based on a few challenges that had been stewing away in my head. (Honestly, it's far less painful than it sounds!)

My attention was first caught by the new challenge at the Cutie Pie challenge blog, which was to use the colour purple. Well, it just so happens to be my favourite colour, so this got me thinking.

So, I had my basic colour. Next, I needed a stamp to work with. And then I remembered I'd recently gotten my hands on what I consider to be one of the cutest stamps ever! This stamp featured Tilda and Edwin hugging, which then led me to the Marvellous Magnolia blog for inspiration, where the theme is "For a Friend". What better way to send a hug to a friend than with a lovely card?
And finally I made my way to the Time for Magnolia blog, where a lovely bingo board was waiting.

Thus armed with plenty of ideas, I sat down and made this:

These two are so sweet! They remind me so much of my kids. Yes, my kids hug! In fact, they are so unlike other siblings it can be scary... They never fight. Maybe a mild disagreement once in a blue moon, but mostly they get on brilliantly all the time. And they hug. Each other and me. All. The. Time.

And I have to admit I was rather pleased with myself, as I managed to include the entire bingo board! Full house!

There's also a tag which comes out, and has a lovely message waiting for the friend in question to discover.

And that's that!
I hope you all like it. I certainly enjoyed the challenge of  bringing it all together. (Note to self: Buy more magnolia stamps, for they be awesome and good to colour!)

Have a fantastic day!

I'm dreaming of a purple Christmas...

Hi all!

There's still one day left to enter my blogoversary candy here. So if you haven't put your name down yet, go do it now!

I'm here just for fun today. No DT work at all, just a Christmas card I'd like to share. A purple Christmas card even! Purple is my favourite colour, but I often find it very hard to work with. I've made a few cards with lots of purple recently, and I think I'm possibly getting the hang of it!

Anyways, this card was made using the adorable "Christmas Dance" stamp from LOTV, and I teamed her up with some gorgeous Magnolia Christmas papers. (Because I don't have the new purple LOTV X-mas papers yet... Don't worry, this will be rectified soon! lol.)

I added some die-cut poinsettias and holly, and finished off with gems, snow tex and some letter beads to spell out a sentiment.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the stars in the image are all metallic silver, so they shimmer nicely.
I've also started playing with some new ways of colouring things, and so far I'm liking the results...

Now, while I'm here, I figure I'll enter this into this month's LOTV challenge, as the theme is Christmas.

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Father's Day/Special Man - Sweet Stampin' DT

Good morning boys and girls!

Another Saturday, another challenge over at Sweet Stampin'! And this week we're looking for father's day/special man creations.

I took the opportunity to ink up a stamp I'd been looking forward to using for a long time. I've not had it all that long, but I'd been after it for a long time, and am so pleased to be able to use it now!
It is of course a fabulous Edwin stamp from Magnolia. And I thought it just perfect for a father's day card, because naturally, my daddy is my hero...

I decided on the colour scheme when I settled on the gorgeous LOTV papers. I just love this new "Father Knows Best" pad (though maybe it should be "Father thinks he knows best", lol), and I thought the blue one had a mediaeval/royal kind of feel to it, so I decided to go with blue and yellow.
I was stumped for ages on how to tackle the sentiment, as I had no stamps with the sentiment I wanted, and I couldn't get a printed one to do what I wanted. Then I remembered that I had a few metal father-related ones tucked away which I bought not long after I first started... And Lo! There was the perfect sentiment to use.

So there we have it. One father's day card. Of course we'd love it if you came and played along after you've checked out all the gorgeous work my fellow Sweeties have put into this challenge for you!

Have a great weekend!

In stitches! - Sweet Stampin' DT

Good morning everyone!

Remember to go here for my candy and/or challenge! (photo of the first part of the candy coming later today!)

And now on to my Sweet Stampin' DT creation for this week. It's Team Fi's turn, and we're following the theme In stitches.

Now, those of you that have paid close attention to my blog know I don't do sewing machines, so for me this meant faux stitches! And it just so happens I have the LOTV "Little stitches" set! I used not one, not two, but three different ones on this card!

As you can see, I used a Magnolia stamp (Oh my! Yes, really, I do own stamps other than LOTV!) and I teamed it up with Papermania "Ahoy There" papers. Add some twine, blooms, gems, charms, brads and a sea shell, and this is the result! (I'm kinda fond of the whole nautical theme... And this is one of only 2 paper pads I have in two separate sizes!)

So there you have it. And if you'd like to be in the running to win our weekly prize, which this week is from Di's Digis, or our monthly prize from Cuddly Buddly, then make sure you enter something that corresponds with the theme, and remember... It must include stamping! (rubber or digital)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Simon says stamp - "A" is for... Ahoy!
Bunny Zoe's crafts - Stitching
Crafting when we can - Challenge 61 (1 image, 2 twine, red, white and blue colour scheme)

Have a fabulous day my dears.

Magnolia today...

I have another Magnolia card, as I managed to find this cutie on sale and couldn't resist!

Image: Magnolia - Tilda with Corkscrews
Medium: Promarkers
Papers: Dovecraft - Princess Fairytale
resin flowers: Dovecraft - Cupcake Boutique
White and pink card, charm and bling from stash.
Sentiment: Magazine freebie.

Now, the paperclip... Believe it or not, that one came from Staples. I was wandering around in there, looking for storage ideas, when I stumbled across this box full of huge stripy paperclips. I was instantly in love and HAD to have them! This one's turquoise, but there's also blue, yellow and red ones (which look very much like  candy canes and will likely make an appearance on a christmas card some time soon, lol!)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Inky chicks - Pretty in pink

Have an excellent day everyone!

Woohoo!

I have some new LOTV to play with! Can't wait to get started :-)

In the meantime, Magnolia-licious' new challenge is "CAS"

No problem.

Doesn't get much more CAS than that! lol.

Aside from the adorable "Cupido" mini stamp, all I used was my coral Promarker to draw a border (I dunno why, but it seems to be my favourite pen at the moment... using it in practically everything!) and a sentiment stamp from the "From Paris with Love" set that came with a recent copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft.

Hope you're all having a great day! I'm off to play with LOTV some more! ;-)

Ohhhh, I have a Magnolia stamp!

And I'm not afraid to use it! :-)

Yes, I had been looking on in envy as people all over blogland were making beeyoutiful cards featuring Magnolia stamps. The images are just lovely and really lend themselves to super pretty girlie cards (something I never thought I'd enjoy making originally, but here we are, lol).

And now, I have a Magnolia stamp of my very own!

The stamp I used is "Baseball Tilda" And I decided to make her team colour coral, which I then teamed up with some First Edition "Daydream" papers. I was originally going to go the whole hog with flowers and doilies and cheesecloth, etc. But I thought the sporty image didn't want anything too fussy, if you know what I mean. The colours haven't photographed as nicely as I'd have liked, but you get the idea...
The sentiment stamp is part of a teddy stamp set that came as a freebie with a mag I grabbed when I first started cardmaking (it was a father's day issue). Unfortunately I've lost the wrapper, so not sure who designed it! Please do let me know if you recognise it!
The brad in the corner is one I got around about the same time... I bought a set of them, and to date still hadn't used one!

In other news, have you all been following the LOTV bloghop today? If not, then what are you waiting for!? It was, frankly, a wonderful way to wake up, being greeted by so many fabulous cards with the sweetest stamps while enjoying my wake-up cup of tea! I can assure you that owning a Magnolia stamp has not in any way diminished my love for LOTV and all its adorableness! ;-)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Shopping our Stash - Oldest hardware (brad)

Have a wonderful day everyone!
