Embellishments - The Paper Shelter

Morning all!

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week we're looking for your creations that have embellishments

Anyone who's been around my blog at all knows I love embellishments, and there are so many that I was spoiled for choice! But rather than do my usual and go all-out shabby chic with tons of flowers and lace, I instead made this card with the adorable Circus digi, which I embellished with die-cuts and pearls.

I really love these papers, especially the striped one. I love that one so much I'd consider having it as wallpaper in my bedroom! ;)

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

Hope you have a fantabulous day!

Inspired by a fairy tale - Sweet Stampin'

 Morning all!

I know it's not my team's week over at Sweet Stampin', but I couldn't resist joining in this week, as the theme is the very fun inspired by a fairy tale

I had a really adorable image from The Paper shelter that was perfect for this challenge!

Isn't she fab!? I just love her steampunky outfit.

Over to you guys! I'm hoping this will be a popular one, because I can't wait to see what people make!

Have a fantabulous weekend,

A shaped card - The Paper Shelter

 Morning all,

It's new challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week's theme is perfect for helping you get out of your go-to card shapes (providing said shapes are rectangles or squares, lol), as we're looking for your shaped cards!

I decided it had been a while since I'd done a stepped card, so I coloured in the gorgeous Hindu Princess and made just that.

I die-cut some flowers from papers from the same pad as the background papers (I love these colours with that digi! Vibrant colours are definitely a real winner paired with her, I think), and added a little bling to them too. A sentiment to finish it off, et voila!

Book print, sheet music and maps - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all!

Sometimes it's fun to use something besides a flowery designer paper for a card, no? At Sweet Stampin' we think so, so this week we're looking for your creations that feature book print, sheet music or maps!

(and yes of course you can use designer paper or stamps featuring those too!)

As using any of the above three is something I love to do, I have a stock of old sheet music, book paper and even an old atlas to use in my creations (an upside of volunteering for a charity is rescuing things like these from ending up in a landfill somewhere when they prove unloved in the shop!). Of course, because I love all three, I also had some difficulty choosing which to use, so in the end I went with all three!

So I used a page from an old book as the background, and had some fun with inks and texture paste. I then made a butterfly out of a layer of sheet music, book paper and finally old map paper to give it some dimension. (It was hard to get all the layers in one picture, but they're there!) A matching glass button, some twine and a sentiment, and my card was done.

And now it's your turn! Come share your bookish/musical/mappy creations with us. we'd love to see them!

Have a fantabulous weekend!
