Water - Sweet Stampin'

Hi all,

Hope you all have less snow than we do (are we *sure* it's May tomorrow!?), because if you're anything like me, you'll not find trudging to work through the cold, wet white stuff all that much fun!

If rain is more to your liking however, this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' will be right up your alley. The theme is Water (April Showers).

I used an image from sponsor Robyn's Fetish to make this card

The papers are First Edition, and the sentiment is LOTV. Naturally the raindrops got the Glossy Accents treatment.

So, if you're the type that likes to pop your wellies on and stomp around in the puddles, why not come and play along?

And spare a thought for those of us trudging along to work today! Lol.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Tags - Sweet Stampin' DT

Morning all!

The new challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is a fun one! We're looking for TAGS. You could pop a tag on a card, or make a tag, like I did...

I wanted to go for a vintage look, and chose some pretty glittered paper and assorted embellishments. The lady stamp was a magazine freebie (part of a set of vintage stamps), and I decided to have some fun with liquid pearls too.

I hope you'll come and play along!

Have a fantabulous day!

Prima dolls and sandy toes - Crafters' Palette

Good morning all,

Hope you're all well? I'm doing better now, but have spent most of this month so far feeling rather less than brilliant. Still have a horrible headache, but otherwise back on my feet. Of course I'm now very much behind with everything, so pulling my socks up and getting stuck in. I hope!

Anyways, I have a card and tag set to share, that I made for Crafters' Palette using a couple of lovely Prima dolls and the Kaisercraft Sandy Toes papers.

There's more over on the blog!

Now I must go and clean my kitchen before I can come back and play in Blogland some more. If anyone would like to send the housework fairy over, I would be most grateful.

Have a fantabulous day!

How old!? - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

New challenge time at Sweet Stampin, and we're looking for you to Use a number this week, in honour of a very special birthday for one of our Sweeties.

I went for the #18 (not her age, but not far off!), my main reason for this being the fact that I could only find 3 of my Woodware number stamps, and only the 1 and the 8 were the same font, lol.

Could have gone for 81 just to be different, I guess...

The papers are Kaisercraft - a magazine freebie from a year or two ago - and the butterfly is a Dutch Doobadoo which I inked up to match the paper.

Your turn, and don't forget to head on over to SS to help us celebrate!

Have a fantabulous weekend!

April challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Good morning folks,

Two posts from me this morning, this second one being this month's DT piece for Rhedd's Creative Spirit.

I took a tea box I've had for a little while. Being immensely fond of tea, I'd been dithering over playing with it, because I din't want to mess it up. Luckily I am very pleased with how it turned out!

I just love the way this technique turned out... I spread texture paste through a stencil and pained over the top. Highlighting one side with a black distress marker and then smudging it out with my finger really makes the design pop.

The very truest of sentiments...

I die-cut this cup from board, painted and stamped, then added crackle accents over the top. Edge with marker and smudge, and work ink into the cracks.

A piece of jewellery I rescued from the bin at work!

Now all I need is to find some teabags I like enough to keep in the box (I'm very much a loose-leaf kinda girl)

Now it's your turn, go check out the blog for more inspiration, then come play along! Just remember it's anything altered art goes, so no cards please!

I'd really like to play along at the Creative Artiste challenge this month!

Have a fantabulous day!

New DT!

Morning all,

I'm here with the first of two posts this morning, and I'm so excited about it! You see, it's my first DT project for the Altered Eclectics blog!
I've been following Altered Eclectics since I first started my own blog, and I'm so happy to now be a part of the team.

I chose to alter a wooden heart.

Which started its life looking like this:

I'm rather pleased with it, and it's now adorning the wall in the book room at work!

Please do help me celebrate this new DT by playing along with us this month!

Right, back in a minute with my next post!
